EUMC Wish List

• It's time to start thinking about purchasing items for the Thanksgiving InGathering.  We will begin putting Health and School Kits together beginning September 5.  The needed items are as follows:

HEALTH KITS

• New Hand Towel (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27")
• Bath sized bar of soap in wrapper
• Toothpaste, 4.5 oz or larger tube (Expiration date must be at least June 2005)
• New toothbrush in original sealed wrapper
• New washcloth
• Band aids
• 7 or 8 inch comb
• Nail clipper with file

SCHOOL KITS

• 8 1/2 x 11 spiral or bound notebooks(approx. 140 sheets) wide ruled
• Heavy construction paper
• Box 24 crayons (ONLY 24)
• Unsharpened pencils with eerasers
• 2 1/2 " eraser
• Blunt scissors
• 30 cm metric ruler
• Hand pencil sharpener

PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO SEW NEEDED
We are also in need of people that want to sew tote bags for the school kits. If you are interested, see Phil Hart or Laura McLain.

• Sunday School Rooms
  
  We would like to get busy decorating, furnishing, and supplying our Elementary Sunday School rooms, which include the nursery, and the rooms off the sanctuary. Our Kid’s Club and Kids for Christ programs on Wonderful Wednesdays are growing and we now have divided into three age groups. It is Christian Ed’s goal that these rooms become a “sanctuary” for our kids. We wish for each child to have an inviting, and exciting, kid-friendly place where they feel comfortable and welcome: a place they can go during unstructured times and have safe, fun things to do. We are asking for Christian themes and symbols for each classroom.
  
  Nursery/toddlers: (room 7) Rainbows, handprints, Noah’s Ark Theme: God’s promises. We are God’s special creation.
  
  PreK 4’s / Kindergarten: (room 4) Butterflies Theme: The resurrection / New life in Christ. “if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation…” 2 Corinthians 5:17a
  
  1st / 2nd grade: (room 5) Fish (early Christian symbol) Theme: Sharing your faith. “the kingdom of heaven is like a net which was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind.” Matthew 13:47
  
  3rd/4th grade: (room 3) Eagles/rocks/mountains Theme: God is our strength and power. “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles,” Isaiah 40:31a
  
  5th/6th grade: (room 2) Theme: Heaven and Earth (heaven and creation)
  
  We are requesting room decorations along these themes appropriate for each age group. Examples are:
  
  
  1. Wind socks
  2. Posters
  3. Framed prints
  4. Wallpaper borders
  5. Stencils
  6. Banners or fabric wall hangings
  7. Ceiling mobiles
  8. Furnishings with these items on it (example: beanbag seat with fish print)
  9. Clocks for the classrooms.
  10. 4 CD players (combination CD/tape preferrred)
  11. Christian CDs (contemporary groups)
  12. Another TV/VCR player
  13. Framed religious prints appealing to children: Jesus with children, etc.
  14. New or gently used toys, such as: Dinoaurs, Lego Table, Legos, Puppets, Train table, Child sized game table (i.e. air hockey, etc.), Nerf basketball and other sports
  15. Music stand
  16. CD/tape holders
  17. Karoaoke machine
  
  
  All items donated will be used at the discretion of the Education Committee. Please indicate if you would like your donations returned to you, should we choose not to use them at this time. All items should be in good used or new condition and clean. Also, all items should have aChristian themes or be neutral (eg. No Disney or TV show themes).
