The "Mission of the Month" for July and August will be school supplies. There are many organizations in the area that are asking for school supplies. Please deposit your donations in the basket in the back of the gathering area. If you have any questions, please contact Laura McLain 349-6017. Family Resources has a desperate need of magazines, (Reader's Digest and parenting magazines would be really good, along with others.) They also need books (ages 3 through 17). These books need to be appropriate for kids. They are setting up a library for kids that are in trouble, etc. These items can be dropped off in the Local Mission of the Month basket.
North Scott Food Pantry
If you would like to donate items to this worthy cause, place nonperishable food in the first cabinet on left of the new welcome center in the gathering area. If you would like more information, please contact Janalee Keppy at 285-4123.
Be a Befriender
Trinity Medical Center's pastoral care department will offer a new training class for Befrienders. Befrienders are volunteers who provide a listening ear to those patients who would like a pastoral care visitor. The 30 hours of training is offered free of charge in exchange for one year of service to the hospital or Hospice. For more information, please call Trinity Pastoral Care at 779-2989.
